We want to understand who will be using the product, how it will work, and the business case for the product.
We act as a resource for our clients in making product-level decisions that integrate Electrical Engineering.
Sometimes that means building a prototype. Sometimes that means making a simulation. And sometimes that means just doing some good old fashioned thinking and design work.
We work with our clients for years, not weeks. We help take designs into production and beyond.

We can do hard engineering and we care about doing it right. We are very comfortable developing prototypes and supporting testing. And we have helped take many products through certification
They take the time to understand our objectives, contribute meaningfully to the brainstorming process, and then design and build boards that exceed expectations. My only hesitation in recommending Luminaire is revealing a hidden gem.
Luminaire Coffee is one of my most trusted referrals. The team consistently delivers industry-leading, design-centered electrical engineering, integrates seamlessly with partners and teams through clear communication across disciplines, and is an absolute pleasure to work with.
Their proposals are consistently thorough, their communication is crisp and professional, and their integrity shows through in every project—whether things are smooth or challenging. If you’re seeking an electrical engineering team that sets the bar for excellence and honesty, reach out to Luminaire Coffee.
We do work on all sorts of products.
When we started, we were more focused on the Specialty Coffee industry. As we studied the Specialty Coffee more deeply, we developed a soft spot for this industry because it is full of passionate individuals. Over the years, we have realized that what we love about the coffee industry is also present in many other industries. Today, we work with clients on consumer products, cooking equipment, scientific equipment, research grants, and also coffee equipment.
We don't have a single process that we use for every project. We find that each project is a little different and deserves the focus to develop a plan specific for that client.
Ultimately, the product development process is about identifying the questions that need to be answered and figuring out how to answer them as thoroughly and effectively as possible. These questions might be related to product-market fit, budgetary, or technological in nature. And each of these questions needs a different set of work to answer them (which might be simulation, design work, research, or prototyping).
That being said, we have years of experience working with clients to launch products and are very willing to share our perspective of how to launch your product successfully.
Reach out to us, and we'll talk. We routinely tell clients and potential clients that we aren't the right fit - in some cases we even make recommendations to other consultants. We always strive to be open and honest because we believe that a product development team needs to all be aligned with the same goals. That openness and honesty starts from the first time you reach out to us.
